About the Opportunity
A growing supply chain advisory firm is seeking a driven, self-directed Sales Executive to help expand its client base. The firm brings enterprise-level supply chain expertise to middle-market manufacturers and distributors, helping clients identify operational pain points, understand root causes, and implement practical solutions that create measurable value. Unlike traditional consulting firms that stop at recommendations, this team works alongside client staff to solve problems and leave behind lasting capability.

This is an early, dedicated sales seat with a proven advisory firm, a clearly defined target market, and a service offering that creates real client value.

Role Summary
This role is focused on new business development. The primary responsibility is to build pipeline, create qualified sales conversations, and sell the firm's proprietary Supply Chain Assessment - a defined diagnostic offering that helps manufacturers and distributors pinpoint where they are losing money, what is causing it, and what to do about it. The assessment is a lower-risk, high-value entry point that often leads to broader advisory, interim, fractional, or project-based engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a pipeline of new-logo opportunities
  • Identify target companies and decision-makers within manufacturing and distribution organizations
  • Sell the Supply Chain Assessment as the first step in helping clients solve operational and supply chain challenges
  • Conduct discovery conversations that uncover real business pain, not just surface-level symptoms
  • Qualify and disqualify opportunities quickly to keep the team focused on the right prospects
  • Use CRM, sales intelligence, prospecting, and buyer-intent tools, along with referrals and market research, to build outreach strategies
  • Self-generate activity through calls, emails, social outreach, referrals, targeted networking, and in-person meetings
  • Partner with senior advisors and technical leaders when opportunities require deeper subject-matter expertise
  • Share market feedback and client insights to sharpen messaging and positioning

Target Clients

  • Middle-market manufacturers and distributors, generally $50M–$500M in revenue
  • CFOs, COOs, Presidents, VPs of Operations, Supply Chain leaders, and other senior decision-makers
  • Organizations facing operational, supply chain, cost, service, inventory, process, or execution challenges

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3–7 years of B2B sales experience
  • Demonstrated success creating new business opportunities
  • A true hunter mindset with the ability to self-generate pipeline
  • Experience selling services, solutions, or other intangible offerings
  • Strong discovery skills — the ability to diagnose before prescribing
  • Confidence engaging senior-level business leaders
  • Strong listening skills, emotional intelligence, and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment
  • A competitive, goal-oriented, self-motivated mindset

Nice-to-Haves

  • Background in supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, operations, or professional services (helpful but not required — the right person can be taught the business)

Benefits/Perks

  • Base salary with uncapped commission (OTE $150,000+)
  • Healthcare
  • 401(k) match
  • Short-term disability
  • Paid time off
  • Entrepreneurial culture with low bureaucracy and the opportunity to influence how the sales function is built
